Well hi, the weekend is almost here! Hopefully you have some fun plans and hopefully there will be a little time for some healthy eats, and maybe even a workout or two 🙂 Did you try the at home Easter workout I posted the other day??? If not, I think you should try that out and then make up this healthy/easy/super delicious recipe 🙂
Over the Easter weekend and into the middle of this week I was in Scottsdale with my family which was incredible, the sunshine felt amazing! Another thing that felt good was getting to some really delicious restaurants – Oh how I love good food! Continue reading “Roasted Root Veggies with Tahini dressing”
Well hi, it’s almost April and Easter long weekend is just about here! We plan to be away for an extended Easter long weekend, so the last couple weeks I’ve been doing a little more cooking. The weather in Vancouver has been fairly overcast and rainy, so I feel a little more content puttering around in the kitchen.
For dinners, I sometimes find myself making the same things week to week, so I’ve been trying to break that habit a little more lately. I typically don’t make a lot of fish at home, I feel like that’s something that usually tastes better when I order it in a restaurant. When it’s been prepared in rich sauces, generous amounts of butter, or oils it make the dish SO delicious! 🙂 Continue reading “Perfect Salmon Burgers”
Food feels like a hobby to me. I love food, I love thinking about it, admiring it, making it, and especially eating it 🙂 I’m fairly simple when it comes to what I eat, I like healthy, fresh and flavourful, and when I’m cooking, I usually like simple ingredients and simple recipes (if I use a recipe, that is:).
Recipes…. For me, a recipe resembles more of a loose guide. I’m not sure why, but I’ve never really been into following recipes too closely. It feels like a hassle sometimes, like I should be more organized and prepared when I cook! Since I use the freestyle method (lol) almost all the time, I find that I can’t tell anyone exactly what I’ve made when I’m asked. So, in the spirit of being more helpful, this time I switched things up a bit and I measured everything!

Today is an exciting day! I’m officially launching my fitness and healthy lifestyle blog 🙂 This is something I’ve been working on for a while now, and thinking about for a whole lot longer. I’m excited to tell you about my journey, talk about what keeps me motivated, and share my ‘fit tips’ with you 😉
Why fitness and a healthy lifestyle? For me it makes life better. It feels good to be stronger, to have more energy and stamina, to be in control of how I shape my body, and to clear my mind and just be… That is a powerful thing. It’s hard to put into words all the things fitness has done for me. It’s been a constant part of me, and one of the few things in life I’ve learned that I can control. I love that it has spilled over into other parts of my life and I can share that with the people in my life, my kids and anyone who might be interested.
Finding what drives you is different for all of us but it’s important to be clear on what that is because that’s what will give you direction on your journey to staying motivated and committed. If you can do one thing for yourself, I think it should be taking care of your body and treating it well, because it’s the only one you’ve got.
